AMANDA MARTIN, LMHC

After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Amanda moved to La Ceiba, Honduras where she had the privilege of working with “niños de la calle,” or boys living on the streets. She loved the work she got to do there but realized that a primary need the boys had was access to counseling to help them heal from the trauma they had been and were continuing to experience. Upon returning to the States, Amanda worked as a 5th grade teacher for three years, and it was during this time that she began pursuing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of the Cumberlands.

Amanda has since been trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which helps individuals identify what they want their life to be about and live in such a way that reflects that, trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and holds a certification in Trauma Model Therapy. These trainings/certificates enhance the work she does as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. EMDR is an effective form of therapy in treating a myriad of issues and concerns including anxiety, depression, relational problems, trauma, and more. To learn more about EMDR, visit her website (www.mosaicscounselingorlando.com) or give Amanda a call!

Amanda is passionate about partnering with her clients as they pursue healing and growth and aims to respect each individual with whom she has the privilege to work. She is honored to help empower her clients to face “icky” things from the past for the sake of freedom to live organically in the present moment.

She and her adventurous toddler love to spend as much time outdoors as possible either at the beach or working in their garden and are both avid animal and nature lovers. They have three dogs (“Bolt,” “Lightning,” and “Thunder”) and are clearly Tampa Bay Lightning fans.
