The DBT Skills modules include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Each skill is designed to teach a person how to focus their mind and attention, accept the current situation and find ways to survive and tolerate the moment without engaging in problematic behavior, learn to identify and label current emotions, identify obstacles to changing emotions, reduce emotional reactivity, increase positive emotions, and change emotions, as well as teach effective strategies for asking for what one needs, saying no, and cope with interpersonal conflict.

Each of these skills are taught and reviewed each week. The goal is for people to gain new skills, get better at the skills they have and be able to use the skills when they are really needed, like during times of intense emotion, crisis or conflict.

Our groups are 90 minutes and run for every 8-10 weeks covering all skills twice in 1 year. Schedule your orientation for group placement today!
