MEET Lauren Theriault, RMHCI
Whether a client is navigating a temporary life issue, breaking bad habits, or exploring past trauma, Lauren enjoys helping people of all backgrounds make sense of their stories and gain practical tools. She focuses on ways to help clients reach their goals, create appropriate coping skills, and build curiosity and compassion for themselves. Her preferred therapeutic approaches include DBT, CBT, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, and Art Therapy. Lauren is passionate about integrating art, music, and creativity in the counseling room when applicable. This can be enormously helpful for processing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, life transitions, spirituality, addiction, and family conflict.
Lauren enjoys working with men, women, and older adolescents of all backgrounds. She has experience with incarcerated individuals providing personalized mentoring and support for various life issues (including trauma, eating disorders, drug/alcohol use, and depression/anxiety). This, along with her direct immersion in European, Hispanic, and African countries, has provided her with exposure to clients of many multicultural, faith, and sexuality alignments. Lauren is also happy to work with clients of Christian Faith if they prefer to engage in their counseling journey from a Christian perspective.
